New Year, New Beginnings

Six years ago, we began the journey that helped turn Wanderlust Tariff into the company it is today.

In the early days, our focus was simple: build the business from the ground up. We bootstrapped rather than immediately scaling for rapid growth. We created workflows that worked (even if they weren’t perfect), relied on tools that solved individual needs, and built our first momentum entirely through word of mouth.

Now, six years later, we’ve grown into a business with a strong customer base and a much deeper understanding of what our clients need. And with that growth comes something new: we’re excited to launch our new and improved website — Wanderlust Tariff (2.0).

Introducing Our Monthly Blog

One of the biggest changes to our Webflow design is the creation of this Blog. Each month, we’ll explore a topic that’s especially important for American expats living in Germany — and we’ll go deeper than the typical “quick overview.”

Over the past few months, we’ve already been building content, including articles on:

• the voting strength of the American expat community

• the realities of self-employment (and self-employment taxes) abroad

• proposed legislation that could impact dual citizenship rights

• draft bills aimed at simplifying tax filing for Americans overseas

We hope you’ll enjoy these posts — and more importantly, that they support you as you build your expat life in Germany.

A Major Upgrade: The New Client Portal

Alongside the Blog, we’re also launching several new features — with the most significant being our new Client Portal.

Going forward, clients will be able to complete a yearly Tax Organizer and respond to our questions directly inside the portal. That means you won't have to work through various one-off solutions, sometimes share files via email, or track multiple logins across different tools.

Everything will be streamlined into one place, designed to make the annual filing process smoother for everyone.

New Referral Program (For Existing Clients)

If you’re already a client, don’t miss our new Referral Program.

When you successfully refer a friend, colleague, or acquaintance, you’ll receive $100 off your annual tax filing fees. And if your referrals more than cover your annual bill, we’ll pay the remaining amount to you in cash.

It’s a small way for us to say thank you for your trust and loyalty.
